In defending ballistic threats, aluminum oxide has established itself as a material with a high protective effect at a low weight in a wide range of applications. QSIL Ceramics supplies ceramic plates to be used in protective modules. The precise production of the ceramics allows for plates with a high fitting accuracy. 

The good protective effect of aluminum oxide is based on the destruction of the projectile upon impact as well as the devastation of a large part of the kinetic energy.

Modern ballistic protection is realized by composite armoring. To this effect, ceramic plates are glued with a protective tissue to form one module. An optimal protective effect requires a harmonized system. Special plate geometries perfectly meet the requirements set on multiple hits.
